See you at the Lake City Pioneer Days Parade next year on August 6, 2016!
Live stream by Ustream
This summer time event has been a part of the Lake City community for decades. It is an event that lives in the memories of many a child-now-adult who hails from our area. Cowboys and clowns, pirates and floats, drill teams, tow trucks and antique tractors. And of course, the All City Marching Band plus the occasional rock band! This year marks the 74th anniversary of this incredible community event and the Lake City Pioneer Days Grand Parade Association, a community based non-profit organization, will be providing the planning and coordination, and the administrative and fundraising leadership. It is the hope and desire of the Association to see the parade celebrate its diamond anniversary in 2016 and launch the 8th decade of this community based celebration that celebrates our rich history as a neighborhood.
The parade route runs down Lake City Way from NE 135th to NE 123rd
and starts filling up in the wee hours of the morning. Empty chairs stand guard all day, holding space for their owners to appear just in time for the Rotary Kid’s Parade at 6 pm, which runs a shorter route, from NE 130th to NE 127th and then loops back.
